Description
The unique coffee variety—Yellow Catuai—gets its name from one of the dialects of the Guarani language, meaning “very beautiful.”
And it’s no wonder Brazil takes pride in this hybrid: it boasts resilience to changing weather conditions, a wide growing range, low acidity, and high sweetness.
Retiro Farm is located in the state of Minas Gerais, in the southeastern region of Brazil, not far from the Atlantic Ocean. The trees grow at an elevation of 1075 meters, and the berries undergo one of the longest processing methods—natural processing. This process allows the beans to absorb more sugar, which impacts their final flavor and aroma.
